I began working professionally with Saboor in early 2014, shortly after he completed a highly informative documentary on anti-narcotics efforts in Afghanistan. The filming and editing for the documentary was impressive, and I thought that we might be able to collaborate on future videos. Our first project together was a short documentary on the Afghan Ski Challenge, produced for the digital arm of the US magazine Newsweek. We spent a week together in Central Afghanistan filming interviews and scenes from the event, and I was able to learn a lot from Saboor watching him work.
